As you land in the Dominican Republic, get ready to immerse yourself in the vibrant culture and breathtaking scenery of this island paradise. Here are a few details to ensure a smooth start to our wedding weekend:

Airport Arrival: We recommend flying into Puerto Plata (POP). Once you land, you'll find taxi services readily available to transport you to your pre-arranged accommodations. The taxi fare is $35, payable in cash US dollars or pesos. IMPORTANT: UBER does not work here.
Currency Exchange Advice: For those staying short term, it's generally more convenient to use US dollars. Most local establishments accept US currency and will provide change in pesos, albeit at a lower exchange rate. So, it's a good idea to bring small denominations for easier transactions. Additionally, most places accept credit cards.
